JACELYN LOBAY
Corps de Ballet

Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Jacelyn Lobay began dancing at the age of three. She began her dance studies at the Edmonton School of Ballet before joining the RWB School Professional Division in 2000. While at the RWB School she received the Prince Edward Award and many grants from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. She graduated in 2004 and completed two years in the RWB Aspirant Program. Lobay made her professional debut as a dancer in 2003 in the RWB’s Nutcracker and in the summer of 2004 and 2005 she danced with Banff’s Professional Dance Program.

Lobay joined the Company last season as an apprentice and was recently promoted to the corps de ballet for the 2007/08 season.

This past summer she was a featured Company dancer in Ballet in the Park, dancing the role of ‘Canari’ in a preview of The Sleeping Beauty prologue. This season Lobay will perform the role when the RWB presents the entire production of The Sleeping Beauty in March.
