WINNIPEG HARVEST VIPS TO PLAY WALK-ON ROLES IN RWB’S NUTCRACKER

Every year, RWB invites local celebrities and members of the media to step into the Party Scene of Nutcracker. Previous Nutcracker walk-on roles have been performed by Winnipeg personalities Chris Walby, former Winnipeg Blue Bomber, Gary Doer, former Premier of Manitoba, and Sylvia Kuzyk, CTV Entertainment Correspondent, to name just a few. This year, RWB will support Winnipeg Harvest and their commitment to raising public awareness of hunger while working towards long-term solutions to hunger and poverty by inviting the organization onto our stage and into our ballet. We are pleased to announce the following Winnipeg Harvest VIPs will perform walk-on roles in RWB’s Nutcracker this year:

Luke Fritz
Player, Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Spokesperson, Winnipeg Harvest’s ‘Hunger for Hope’ program
Sunday, December 26th 7pm Performance

David Northcott
Executive Director, Winnipeg Harvest
Thursday, December 23rd 2pm Performance

Gordon Pollard
Co-Chief Executive Officer, Pollard Banknote
Board Member, Winnipeg Harvest
Monday, December 27th 2pm Performance

It is our hope that, by drawing attention to Winnipeg Harvest and their important work in this way, individuals from across the province will be moved to donate money, food, time, and goods and services. With this in mind, RWB has arranged for Winnipeg Harvest bins to be set up in the lobby of the Centennial Concert Hall throughout the run of RWB’s Nutcracker. RWB invites all patrons to bring to performances non-perishable food items for donation. Please visit the Winnipeg Harvest website at www.winnipegharvest.org for a list of food items that are most needed. In addition, a group of RWB dancers and staff have agreed to donate some of their time to Winnipeg Harvest as volunteers.
