The Royal Winnipeg Ballet was on hand at Polo Park Mall this past weekend, greeting ballet fans and answering questions about our upcoming premiere of The Handmaid's Tale, based on the bestselling novel by Margaret Atwood, and choreographed by Lila York.
The occasion also presented an opportunity to offer a sneak-peek showcase of one of the ballet's futuristic costumes, designed by Canadian Liza Vandal (photo above). Vandal's creations are internationally-renowned due to her fashion & costume design for Cirque du Soleil, Marie Chouinard, and La La La Human Steps, amongst others.
Audiences who missed the showcase will have one more chance to see the costumes up close & in person at St. Vital Mall on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13 from 10am-5pm. Visitors will be entered to win tickets to the Opening Night of The Handmaid's Tale on October 16 at the Centennial Concert Hall.
