The RWB School is pleased to be offering ballet exams in the Cecchetti Syllabus for select levels.   Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 2 ballet classes per week of the same level to be considered for these exams. These decisions are made by the student’s ballet teacher and will be based on their progress, attendance and focus.  Invitations will be sent out in the coming weeks.  The exams will be in April and in preparation, a maximum of four Sunday exam rehearsals will be scheduled during the months prior.  These Sunday exam rehearsals are mandatory and will take precedence over Festival rehearsals.

Upon completion of an examination, the student will receive a certificate and detailed report from the Cecchetti Society of Canada.  Please be aware that ballet examinations are NOT mandatory to advance to the next RWB and Cecchetti level (with the exception of Intermediate).  For more information please speak to your child’s ballet teacher.

The second session starts on January 12/13 and runs for 14 weeks.  Students will gain an understanding of locomotion skills and musicality in a creative atmosphere which will provide an excellent foundation for subsequent dance classes. Parents will be invited to view their child’s class during the March Observation Week.  The School Office will continue to accept registrations during the first week back, however space is limited. Class times are as follows:

The RWB School Professional Division will be holding their annual Summer Session auditions in Winnipeg on January 27^th.  This four-week intensive professional training program will give prospective students a taste of what professional ballet training is all about and is the next step audition process for the full-time Regular Session for 2013-2014.

There is a special exclusive information session for all RD parents and students who have questions pertaining to PD Summer Session or Regular session (fall/winter program).   It will be held on Monday, January 21 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the 2^nd floor boardroom.

All interested students and parents are asked to sign up in advance for the information session at the School Office although you are welcome to attend even if you do not sign up.
