Summer dance programs are essential for dancers to keep in shape and progress to their full potential. These programs are also wonderful opportunities to have fun, meet new friends, and gain valuable experiences while staying fit. Dance Intensive is a unique program that includes classes in ballet, pointe (at the discretion of the teacher), modern, character, Spanish, and jazz. It also includes classes in body conditioning, creative movement, movement improvisation, music, dance history and art. A minimum of 2 years of ballet training is required. This two-week program will be led by talented teaching staff from both Professional and Recreational Divisions, along with guest teacher Jane Wooding.

The RWB School is pleased to be offering ballet exams in the Cecchetti Syllabus once again this year. Throughout the next few weeks all ballet students attending the second class may receive an invitation to participate in the exam process. These decisions are made by the student’s ballet teacher and will be based on their progress, attendance, focus and standard set by the Cecchetti Society of Canada. The examination session will be held in April and a maximum of four mandatory Sunday exam rehearsals will be scheduled during the months prior. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of two ballet classes per week of the same level to be considered for these exams.
Please be aware that ballet examinations are NOT mandatory to advance to the next RWB and Cecchetti level (with the exception of the Intermediate exam). However they can be a positive goal for students to work for. Ballet exams are offered in select ballet classes from Levels 1-8 and within the Intensive Training Program. Upon completion of an examination, the student will receive a certificate and detailed report from the Cecchetti Society. For more information please speak to your child’s ballet teacher.
