This year, Hallowe’en falls on a Monday. Students are welcome to wear their costumes to class to celebrate the event. This being said, we ask that parents ensure costumes do not restrict movement and that they allow the student to roam freely around the room without hurting others. Props and masks will not be allowed in class.
The RWB is outfitted with blue panic alarm buttons dispersed around the building and parkade to ensure that help is available in case of need. In an emergency, simply lift the cover and press the button. As soon as the cover is lifted a loud alarm will sound. The button will signal Winnipeg police and emergency services to come to the RWB to assess the incident. Please be aware that these panic alarms are only to be used in emergency cases that RWB staff are unable to assist with. We hope that everyone will continue to feel safe and secure in our building.
Designed for adults with varied movement abilities, 2011/2012 ExplorAbility participants will explore their dance ability through creative movement and music. Movement within our abilities and exploring movement beyond them encourages the development of muscular strength, response, agility and balance, ultimately strengthening the body/mind connection. Through guided studies as a group, and as individuals, we will explore many forms of movement, patterning, and music in a fun and supportive environment.
ExplorAbility incorporates movement, music and fitness into a 50-minute session once a week for 10 weeks with RWBS faculty member, Jacqui Davidson. This program is open to individuals with varying abilities (assistive devices such as wheel chairs, walkers, etc. are welcome). These classes begin Wednesday, October 19th. The second session of classes will begin January 11th.
