SEPTEMBER 30, 2012 - 1pm - 4pm
Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet is pleased to present Dance Downtown on Sunday, September 30, 2012, a free public open house being held as part of the national Culture Days 2012 weekend.
Activities will take place from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. both indoors and on the courtyards of the RWB Building at 380 Graham Avenue and the Manitoba Hydro Building directly across the street. Street and lot parking are available in the immediate area, and regular Sunday bus service will stop directly at the event.
Dance Downtown brings together professional and non-professional dancers of all styles and backgrounds for a full afternoon of impressive performances. At the RWB Studio we will showcase dancers from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and other professional dance companies. In the lobby of the Manitoba Hydro Building will be a spirited program featuring the RWB School’s Recreational and Professional Division students.
Dance Downtown features a host of other activities to delight the entire family! Free demonstration classes for all ages will run throughout the afternoon. They include Creative Movement (3-6 years), Introductory Ballet (7 years through adult), and a jazz fitness class (all ages). Ballet costumes and shoes will be on display for the kids to try on. Other kids’ entertainment includes face painting and interactive storytelling.
The RWB Box Office will be open during the event for those wanting to purchase subscriptions to our exciting 2012/13 Season, tickets to the Canadian Premiere of Twyla Tharp’s The Princess & The Goblin or an early holiday gift of Nutcracker tickets.
RWB is very excited to have the following Dance/Arts Groups performing at Dance Downtown 2012!
