SECOND SOLOIST

Ontario-born Elizabeth Lamont is a graduate of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. She joined the RWB Company as an apprentice in 2010, the Corps in 2011, then was promoted mid-season to Second Soloist in 2014.

She made her principal role debut as Offred in The Handmaid's Tale followed by Clara in The Nutcracker, while still in the corps. Other major roles include Nathalie in the widely successful Moulin Rouge® – The Ballet, the Bluebird Pas de Deux in Sleeping Beauty and, following her promotion to Second Soloist, she danced the iconic role of Juliet in Dantzig's Romeo and Juliet. Another highlight was being selected by James Kudelka to perform the show stopping Summer lead in his ballet The Four Seasons.

Lamont has been apart of many RWB premiers and new works including The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude, Carmina Burana, the comedic lead in Pas D'action and Peter Quanz' Double Bounce

During her years in the school she received various scholarships including those that allowed her to further her studio training at the Banff Summer Dance Program in 2010 and 2011.

Beth was featured in the Bravo documentaries Ballet Girls, Ballet High and 2014's live performance Cineplex movie of Moulin Rouge® – The Ballet.

“Green wasn’t actually performing the night I went, that job went to Elizabeth Lamont, a tiny but extremely poised Juliet. For me, the highlight was watching [her] dance on her tiptoes backwards across the stage in rapid time. Her technique was near perfect and she made it seem effortless.” Dan McPeake, Vancouver Observer, February 8, 2014
