
Originally from Kingston, New Brunswick, Liam
Caines danced in Saint John at Rothesay Ballet, then at Port City Dance Academy
before starting his training at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School Professional
Division in 2003. Caines was invited to join the RWB Company in 2007 and was
promoted to Corps de Ballet in 2009.
His repertoire includes Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, Serenade, Peter Pan, Romeo & Juliet, Hikarizatto, Swan Lake, Pas D’Action, Mauricio Wainrot’s Carmina Burana and the world premiere of Jorden Morris’ Moulin Rouge® – The Ballet. Caines was also the host of a video blog series about the making of the RWB’s Moulin Rouge® – The Ballet.
Along with the RWB company, he performed Itzik Galili’s Hikarizatto and Mark Godden’s As Above, So Below before an international audience at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games Cultural Olympiad. This past season Caines’ highlights include dancing in Twyla Tharp’s, The Princess & The Goblin and touring The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude by William Forsythe.
