To kick off the holiday season, RWB decorated a tree to display in the Festival of Trees and Lights and attended opening night of the festival! Our tree won Best Use of Theme for our Nutcracker Suite theme!

Make sure to stop by and have a peek at the RWB tree, you can’t miss it it’s the one with the pointe shoes! A special thanks goes out to Jacqui Davidson who helped make the decorating possible!

The trees are auctioned off and the proceedings go to the following charities:

MISSION OFF THE STREETS TEAM
Siloam Mission
The Friends of the Gardens Manitoba

Many thanks goes out to the team who made this year's festival possible! We appreciate your hard work. RWB's tree will be displayed at The Manitoba Hydro Building for the run of The Festival of Trees and Lights Nov 25-Dec 11.

Albert & Irena Cohen with André Lewis at the 2011 RWB Gala

Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet is deeply saddened by the passing of Albert Cohen on November 21.

Mr. Cohen was a dear friend of the RWB and a pillar in the business community. A long time member of Patron’s Circle, Mr. Cohen along with his wife Irena, was a true supporter of our efforts to create and perform new works to audiences at home and abroad.

Albert and Irena made a significant gift to the RWB’s Creation’s Endowment Fund and had generously supported the creation of Swan Lake and the RWB’s last Capital Campaign.

Mr. Cohen’s generous and dedicated support of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet over the years, both personally and corporately through Gendis Inc., has been of tremendous assistance to the organization. All of us at RWB offer our sincere condolences to Mrs. Cohen and the Cohen family.
