In celebration of the Professional Division’s 40th anniversary, The Connections Tour will see the RWB School and its Aspirants working with middle school-aged youth from the Frontier School Division in Northern Manitoba, as well as other professional Manitoba artists from Manitoba Theatre for Young People (MTYP) and Graffiti Art Programming Inc.
Following two days of workshops in various art disciplines and theatre production, students will be involved in performances for their communities. Students will later visit Winnipeg to reconnect with the professional artists and participate in specially designed workshops in dance, music, theatre, mask making and visual arts, offered out of the RWB facility, as well as a production clinic at MTYP’s CanWest Global Performing Arts Centre.
The School is very pleased for the assistance and support of this project by Manitoba Theatre for Young People and Graffiti Art Programming Inc. and for the funding support of the Manitoba Arts Council. We are also proud to have Manitoba Hydro as Presenting Sponsor and the support of Beaver Bus Lines. The Connections Tour takes off in April 2011!
