Dear Parents and Students, It was such a pleasure to see so many faces in our observation classes last month. It’s always such a positive experience for the children to have the warm support of a parent in the room, and I look forward to seeing many of you in the coming weeks before the holidays. I appreciate that many of you have taken the time to share your thoughts as well.

As many of you know by now, my husband and I are delighted to be expecting our first child at the beginning of January. I will be taking a one-year maternity leave, and would like to announce that Nicole Egeland will be taking on the role of Interim RD Principal during my absence. I am thrilled that Nicole has agreed to lead the school while I am away. I will be communicating directly to my classes this month to confirm their teachers for the New Year. I look forward to attending RWB School performances and events to support the students and will be popping in every now and then to see our students progress.

Happy Holidays to everyone and I can’t wait to come back next year!

Warmest Regards,

Kelly Bale

Each year, the RWB School sends a team of artistic faculty and staff to cities across Canada and the United States to audition students for its Ballet Academic, Aspirant and Teacher Training Programs. The 2012-2013 International Audition Tour began in Regina in October, and will be concluding with auditions in Winnipeg on January 27.

An annual Recreational Division Scholarship for the Summer Session is awarded to one RD student who attends the Winnipeg audition. If you are interested in auditioning or participating in the Master Classes/Workshops offered, please contact the School Office or download the registration form at We find the audition to be a very positive learning experience for all students and encourage students to attend the workshops to gain new perspectives from Professional Division teachers.
