Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s 2016-2017 season will bring you captivating performances, bold and innovative works

Dracula makes a comeback in October as RWB’s season opener. It will mesmerize you with its captivating choreography, opulent sets and costumes along with the thrilling musical score from Gustav Mahler. In December, the enchanting family favourite Nutcracker will have additional furry characters as well as matinee performances on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve – many choices to fit your holiday schedule. Mixed Programme is back in January 2017 with two of RWB’s most loved ballets in its repertoire. Agnes De Mille’s Rodeo and Mark Godden’s Angels In The Architecture are gracing the stage once again and are sure to please your senses.

Watch out for an exciting announcement in May 2016. The RWB is embarking on a premiere presentation of another groundbreaking creation that will bring ballet to new heights. This new show will have its world premiere in Winnipeg in March 2017.

RWB Presents Q DANCE - An adventure into the unknown, Q DANCE is an exploration that offers diversity in repertoire and an accessible view into the state of the art. Q DANCE continues to be inventive and innovative featuring original works from Q DANCE artistic director, Peter Quanz and his talented collaborators.

Vespers (working title) is a new ballet creation by internationally acclaimed choreographer James Kudelka (The Four Seasons). This is the second world premiere this season and will be performed in May 2017. Based on the music of Claudio Monteverdi’s Vespers, 1610, the new ballet will include perspectives on relationships, nature and the spiritual world. RWB Presents Spotlight - Rising stars from the RWB Professional Division perform the best of the classical ballets. They will capture your hearts and impress you with their talent and skills.
