Bio

Maggie Weatherdon joined the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company as an Apprentice in 2022. She was promoted to the Corps de Ballet in 2023 and to Second Soloist in 2026.

Career highlights include Myrtha in Giselle, Nellie in Val Caniparoli’s Jekyll & Hyde, Clara in Nutcracker, the Evil Queen in Angelin Preljocaj’s Snow White, Mother in Loughlan Prior’s Hansel & Gretel, Lilac Fairy and Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Soloist in Itzik Galili’s Hikarizatto, and Lead Couple in Dwight Rhoden’s Odyssey.

Born in North Carolina and raised in Grimsby, Ontario, Maggie began her ballet training after moving to Canada at the age of five. She trained for six years with Neglia Ballet in Buffalo, New York, and went on to compete at the USA International Ballet Competition in 2018 and the Prix de Lausanne in 2020. Following her performance at the Prix de Lausanne, she received a scholarship to the RWB School’s Anna McCowan-Johnson Aspirant Program, where she continued her training for two years.

Outside of dance, Maggie loves all things creative. Whether she’s working on an arts and crafts project or catching live music, she enjoys finding inspiration beyond the studio.
