Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet is closely monitoring information about COVID-19. The health and safety of our students, families, patrons, and staff are extremely important to us and we are currently following the guidance provided by the World Health Organization, Health Canada, the Government of Manitoba, and the Centres for Disease Control & Prevention.

The Province of Manitoba has mandated the closure of all Manitoba schools effective Monday, March 23, 2020 for a period of three weeks.

Out of an abundance of caution and in an effort to lessen the effects of COVID-19 the following actions have been taken:

  • The RWB School Recreational Division is suspending all classes and programs effective Saturday, March 14, 2020, for a period of four weeks up to and including Sunday, April 12, 2020.
  • The RWB School Professional Division is suspending all classes and programs effective Monday, March 23 up to and including Sunday, April 12, 2020. The RWB School Residence will remain open during this period. All forthcoming dance examinations will be postponed.
  • The RWB is currently undertaking an assessment of the upcoming On The Edge Tour. An update on the status of these performances will be made the morning of Monday, March 16, 2020
  • The RWB United States Oz Tour has been cancelled.

Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet continues to take steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 including greater access to hand sanitizer and more frequent cleaning and sanitizing of public areas. We encourage you to take precautions, including frequent hand washing with soap and water along with additional personal hygiene tips to avoid the spread of any illness. Please stay home if you are unwell and if you have questions, contact your healthcare provider.

Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet is presently assessing all upcoming scheduled events and performances and will provide you with updates as they become available.
