WINNIPEG—March 8, 2017. The Board of Directors of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB) announced today that André Lewis has been appointed Executive Artistic Director of the RWB.

In making the announcement, Chair David Reid stated, “the Board has great confidence in André‘s leadership. Over the last nine months as André took on the additional responsibilities of Executive Director he brought stability to the organization and developed a strong senior leadership team. As André takes on his new and expanded role, we have begun the search for a new administrative leader for the organization to support him.”

The Board also announced that Lewis Rosenberg has been elected Chair of the Board of Directors for the organization, effective March 15, 2017. Reid, who has served as Chair for the past four years will serve as Past Chair.

“On behalf of the whole organization I would like to thank David Reid for his leadership and his unwavering commitment to the well-being of the organization over the last four years, “ stated Rosenberg. “I am very encouraged by the depth of this community’s commitment to the RWB. I look forward to working with my fellow board members and Lewis and his team as we continue to stabilize the RWB’s financial situation, recruit new administrative leadership, and grow our earned and contributed revenue.”

Rosenberg, a successful senior member of the Winnipeg business community, has a long history with the RWB, having served on the Board previously. He also played a key role in the building of the RWB School’s residence which opened in 1995.
