The RWB School Professional Division’s popular Concert Hour Ballet tour sends senior students throughout Winnipeg to share the power of dance with new audiences in schools and community spaces. This dynamic program has the dual goal of sharing dance with new audiences – particularly those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to see a live performance by the RWB Company – and allowing professional dance students to experience the demands of performing and touring first-hand.

“Thank you, RWB, for 40 years of providing students with the opportunity to learn so much from your “Concert Hour Ballet” performances in the schools. We have learned that dance is a form of communication, a study of history, both an ART AND A SCIENCE. It is mathematical, demands incredible athleticism, and is both technical AND creative. It exalts the human spirit. It enhances the quality of life. It transforms the human experience. It has always played a major role in society and will continue to do so in the future, thanks to programs like “Concert Hour Ballet”. Finally, and most importantly, it has taught us the importance of valuing dance education.” – Janna Larsen , Performing Arts Consultant with Winnipeg School Division
