DANCE ENSEMBLE AND INTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM

DANCE ENSEMBLE AND INTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM

DANCE ENSEMBLE AND INTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM

INTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM (BY AUDITION OR INVITATION)

What is the Intensive Training Program?

For students who have shown ability and dedication for more intense training in classical ballet, the Intensive Training Program provides a specialized training environment. Students prepare for ballet examinations in the Cecchetti method of classical ballet. Regular ballet classes are supported with additional classes such as pointe, RWB School Dance Ensemble performance groups, conditioning and modern. Spring auditions are held annually for the Junior and Intermediate levels.

Intensive Training Program students may have the opportunity to participate in performances and competitions throughout the season.

Due to the accelerated nature of this program, a high level of commitment is required from students and attendance is extremely important. Students enrolled in the Intensive Training Program who are involved in other extra-curricular activities outside of dance at the RWB School should be prepared to make this program their priority.

DANCE ENSEMBLE (BY AUDITION OR INVITATION)

What is the Dance Ensemble

The RWB School Dance Ensembles provide a unique opportunity for chosen students to be involved in various performance opportunities throughout the year. Upon a successful audition or invitation process, choreography will be created and then entered in competitions, festivals and showcases throughout the year. Ensembles are offered within the Intensive Training Program for ballet, as well as separate Ensemble classes in jazz, tap, hip hop and musical theatre.

Alumni have gone onto careers on Broadway, Rainbow Stage and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and have continued their education with the RWB Professional Division, Arts Umbrella, Goh Ballet, Alberta Ballet, Boston Conservatory and the School of Contemporary Dancers. Students work closely with RWB School Artistic faculty, including award winning choreographers, and perform new works in festivals and competitions. They may also have exclusive opportunities to perform with other Winnipeg arts and culture organizations.
