2021/22 Season FAQ’s
Q: Will I need to show proof of vaccination in order to attend an RWB performance at the Centennial Concert Hall?
Yes. RWB patrons will be required to show proof of full vaccination prior to entry at the Centennial Concert Hall for the start of the 2021-22 season in October and perhaps beyond. At entry, you can either show your QR code on a mobile device or your physical card.
This directive comes in conjunction with the Centennial Concert Hall’s announcement about its re-opening policy on August 20, 2021 and reflects Manitoba’s Public Health Orders for concert halls as of August 7, 2021.
While full proof of vaccination applies to performances and staff at the Centennial Concert Hall, our current guidelines for students of both the Professional and Recreational Divisions remain the same – the RWB continues to follow Public Health Orders.
For more information, please visit the Centennial Concert Hall Re-Opening Protocols.
Q: What if I am not comfortable with this protocol?
A: We are proud to offer all our patrons flexible options as we return to the stage. This includes free exchanges between performance dates and if you are not well enough to attend any of the scheduled performances or are not quite ready to return to the theatre you can donate the value of your ticket to the RWB, receive a credit or receive a full refund. Please see our Refund Policy for more details.
Q: If I was a subscriber in 19/20 & 20/21 and I choose not to subscribe for the upcoming 21/22 season, will I lose my seats?
A: No, we will hold your seats for the 22/23 season and contact you in the Spring of 2022 to see if you are interested in getting back to your seats. Your seats are saved for the year and waiting for you to return.
Q: Why can I not get my regular subscriber seats for this coming season?
A: We anticipate getting you back to your regular seats as soon as it is safe to do so. At this point, we do expect safety precautions for the 21/22 season will require physically distanced seating, among other adaptations. We will hold your favourite seat until it is safe to return to regular seating. In the meantime, don’t forget to let us know if you have any seating requirements when booking your subscription, or follow up with a call to our Box Office.
PS: You never know, many of our patrons who have been in the same seat for years really enjoy other sections of the Centennial Concert Hall.
Q: What will happen to my regular subscriber seats?
A: We anticipate getting you back to your regular seats as soon as it is safe to do so, but they are currently reserved for you in 22/23 season.
Q: When will I be able to purchase additional Nutcracker tickets as part of my subscription?
A: Nutcracker tickets are now available to purchase along with your subscription. As always, our subscribers will receive a 40% discount and priority seating. Single tickets for Nutcracker will go on sale later this Fall; we will have updates on our website and social media when your favourite holiday tradition goes on sale!
Q: When will I know what seats you have booked for me?
A: Five weeks prior to each performance, subscribers for the 21/22 season will be seated based on the length of their ballet subscription history, before new subscribers and single ticket buyers are seated.
Q: Will I be able to sit next to people outside of my household?
A: Yes! Please make sure you enter the patron’s name in the Seating Requests section when renewing online or let our customer service team know. We will do our very best to accommodate all requests.
For Perpetual Motion (October 14-17), ticket holder groups will be physically distanced from one another; however, no decision has been made around seating for the remainder of the season. Please note, as a subscriber, you are given priority seating prior to single tickets going on sale.
Q: What if a performance is cancelled?
A: If a performance is cancelled, we will automatically apply a credit to your account for the value of your tickets that can be used towards tickets for additional shows, your next subscription, or other events we may offer this year.
You could also opt to donate those funds back to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. All credits must be redeemed or donated by June 15, 2022; if you have not used your credit, a refund will be applied.
Our commitment is to deliver every performance as scheduled this season, and we do not expect cancellations. Our primary plan is to welcome audiences back to the theatre for live, in-person performances.
If conditions do not permit us to bring together audiences on the announced program dates, we will deliver the performance digitally to ticket buyers, so that you can enjoy the Royal Winnipeg Ballet in the comfort of your own home.
Q: What if I am not feeling well?
A: We are proud to offer all our patrons flexible options as we return to the stage, including free exchanges between performance dates. If you are not well enough to attend any of the scheduled performances or are not quite ready to return to the theatre, you can donate the value of your ticket to the RWB, receive a credit or receive a full refund. Please see our Refund Policy for more details.
