On The Edge Tour

April 12-16 & 19-23, 2021 | A Virtual & Interactive Performance

Days before the RWB’s first ever On the Edge Tour would send our 2nd Company (the RWB Aspirants) on the road to delight audiences of all ages, we made the difficult decision to cancel the tour for the safety of our staff, dancers and audiences. We are please to reinvigorate this tour and deliver it digitally to students and schools across the province. The performance will be live streamed and interaction between students and dancers will be encouraged throughout the show.

We have designed a program similar to the classic Concert Hour Ballet, which allows us to explain the history and technique behind each of the pieces as well as open it up for questions from our audience.

Bold and tender, this programme of classical, neoclassical, and modern repertoire will feature inspiring new work by some of the country’s most up-and-coming choreographers and will afford audiences the rare opportunity to see the next generation of dancers before they take the world by storm! The opportunity to perform before new and diverse audiences is also extremely valuable from a training perspective, and these young artists will be forever shaped as people and as artists by this experience. Study Guides will be available to provide engaging lesson opportunities with students.

Sharing Dance Workshops

April 14, 16, 20 & 21, 2021 | Interactive Workshop with RWB School Artistic Faculty

Sharing Dance is an umbrella community initiative of the RWB School, in partnership with Canada’s National Ballet School and Physical Health and Education Canada, and derives from our shared belief that all people should have access to the physical, emotional, and social benefits of dance.

The Sharing Dance workshops delivered in conjunction with this tour will stem from Sharing Dance Kids, one of the program’s many streams, which is designed to foster artistic engagement, build self-confidence, and develop physical literacy in children and youth. A member of the RWB School Artistic Faculty will provide quality instruction to all participants. Workshops can be tailored to any audience including children, teens, adults or even seniors!
