Alumni Home Coming - Celebrating 80 Years

Dear Alumni,

Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet is closely monitoring information about COVID-19. The health and safety of our alumni, dancers, students, patrons, and staff are extremely important to us and we are currently following the guidance provided by the World Health Organization, Health Canada, the Government of Manitoba, and the Centres for Disease Control & Prevention.

As such, we have decided to postpone the Alumni Homecoming event scheduled to run in tandem with 80 Years - A Retrospective, May 8th – 10th. We have rescheduled to October 23rd – 25th to take place alongside the opening performance of the 20/21 season. We look forward to celebrating the Canadian Premier of Septime Webre’s Alice with you!

We understand that this change of date may pose a challenge for those planning to attend Alumni Homecoming. If you have purchased a ticket, an RWB team member will be in contact with you in the coming days. We appreciate your patience as we work through the details of this postponement and will share information as soon as it is available.

The arts have always played an integral role in times of distress. Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet began in 1939, the same year as the start of World War II, and since then we have continued to create art that elevates the human spirit and fosters a sense of shared humanity. We are encouraged by the incredible support and generosity of our alumni. We will continue to create art in the next days, weeks, months, and years and are deeply grateful to have you with us every step of the way.

We thank you in advance,

Tara Birtwhistle,
RWB Associate Artistic Director & Alumni Home Coming Chair
