RWB Honour Roll of Distinguished Alumni

In celebration of our 80th anniversary, the RWB launched the Honour Roll of Distinguished Alumni. The Honour Roll recognizes and pays tribute to the artists and builders who’ve made a significant contribution to the RWB and/or the world of dance. Fourteen alumni were inducted after the first call for nominations during the 2019-20 season.

This important initiative will continue in conjunction with future anniversaries, including the 85th. All recognitions are at the discretion of the Selection Committee, which is comprised of representatives of various RWB stakeholders.

Candidates must be RWB artists (dancers, teachers, choreographers, designers, etc.) or builders (donors, sponsors, board members, administrators, etc.). Deceased individuals can be nominated.

Candidates must not be current employees of the RWB and/or individuals actively doing business with the RWB i.e. contractors. You cannot nominate yourself.

Nominations are open from June 28, 2024 to January 10, 2025.

Successful candidates will be announced on stage on May 1, 2025 (opening night of our Mixed Programme), but they or their next of kin will be privately informed approximately 2 months in advance.

A completed application includes the nomination form found below, at least one letter of support from someone other than the nominator, and a biography. The nominations of all unsuccessful applicants will be kept on file for the next round of nominations, tentatively set for 2029.

Please submit all nominations to Gayle DeGagné, RWB Archivist, at or by mail, care of Gayle at 380 Graham Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4K2. Feel free to contact Gayle with any questions at the above address or at (204) 957-3454.
