Failya Bolgarova

Failya Bolgarova began studying ballet at the age of 12, which was considered late for professional training. However, due to her hard work, love of dance, and guidance from famous Soviet ballet teachers Rafiga Akhundova, Tamilla Shiraliyeva, Ramazan Arifullin, Emiliya Aliyeva and Tamilla Mammedova, she was transferred to the professional division of Baku Choreography Academy where she graduated in 2002. In 1999 she was accepted as a corps de ballet Dancer to the Opera and Ballet Theatre, where she grew into a soloist artist.
Failya Bolgarova is a classically trained ballerina with 18 years of professional dance experience with Azerbaijan Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. Ms. Bolgarova performed soloist roles, and some of her credentials included dancing Thumbelina (Thumbelina), Pas de Trois (Swan Lake), Dance of the Little Swans (Swan Lake), Kitri’s Friends (Don Quixote), Grand Pas (Don Quixote), Pas de Trois (Paquita), Mazurka (Chopeniana), Markiza and Spanish doll (Nutcracker), and Khorezmian beauty (Seven Beauties)
Throughout her career, she took part in the performances on the stages of Bolshoi Theatre, the stage of Grand Auditorium de I’UNESCO in Paris and was invited to perform at Venice Grand Balls conducted in Azerbaijan.
Ms. Bolgarova is advanced in Vaganova and Cecchetti ballet techniques and is familiar with a wide range of ballets, character dances and choreography styles.
In 2018 Ms. Bolgarova retired from dancing and moved to Canada with her spouse and two children. In 2020 she began the Teacher Training Program with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School to pursue her passion - sharing the art of dance, skills and experience with future generations of dancers. Under the guidance of RWB School faculty, Johanne Gingras, Kelly Bale, Marijka Stanowych, Katrin Benedictson, Nicole Kepp and other RWB School faculty, she developed new skills as a ballet teacher.
During her education, Ms. Bolgarova was awarded the Kelly Kennedy Scholarships and obtained Associate Cecchetti Canada Certification with Distinction. Her other credentials include Certification in Progressing Ballet Technique and masterclasses from prestigious famous ballet artists, including Lyudmila Semenyaka, Tatyana Borovik, Vasiliy Medvedev and Irina Surneva.
Ms. Bolgarova started teaching ballet at the RWB School in 2021. She is excited to pass on her knowledge and experience to her students.
