RD Artistic Faculty
Julie Gregorchuk has been keeping the beat going at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School since 2001, when she joined the Artistic Faculty as a tap teacher. Although tap is her forte, she has also trained in jazz, ballet, lyrical, hip hop and Irish dance.
In 2005, Ms. Gregorchuk moved to New York City where she studied dance at Broadway Dance Centre for six months. Being a part of their International Student Visa Program, she studied with renowned teachers such as Germaine Salsberg, Sheila Barker and Tracie Stanfield and Mike Minery, who she credits with helping her to gain confidence in her skills as a teacher. During that time, Ms. Gregorchuk was given the opportunity to choreograph and perform for the program’s “Performance Project” where she was given feedback on her work from various teachers and industry moguls. Challenging herself to continue to excel as a dancer, teacher and choreographer, Ms. Gregorchuk continually attends dance workshops and conventions, bringing fresh ideas to her students and building upon her extensive knowledge of the art form she loves.
