Karin Giesbrecht has been sharing her love of jazz and lyrical with Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School since 1990. Her thirst for learning has led her to conventions, workshops, and competitions throughout Manitoba and internationally, and allowed her to bring her knowledge and technique development back to her students. She continues to broaden her dance education by attending yearly conferences such as Triple Threat, L.A. Danceforce, Alberta’s Dance Educators, ADAPT syllabus and the RWB School Teacher Training Seminar.

Herself a student of the RWB School, Ms. Giesbrecht also studied with The School of Contemporary Dancers and Decidedly Jazz Danceworks in Calgary. Since 1990 she has performed, choreographed and appeared in commercials for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Winnipeg Jets, Winnipeg Goldeyes, and the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Choreographic credits also include work for the Lung Association of Winnipeg, Folklorama, Harley Davidson, Nygard, CFL awards show, the World Gymnastada in Lisbon and touring with Magician Brian Glow. Locally, Ms. Giesbrecht has choreographed for drama productions and has performed with Rainbow Stage. She was also previously a board member of Dance Manitoba.
