Leonid Khrapunsky joined the RWB School Professional Division Faculty in 2023 where he teaches ballet.

Mr. Khrapunsky began his dance training at the age of six in ballroom dance, later delving into classical ballet at the age of 10. Hailing from Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, and started training ballet at the Valery Panov Ballet School in Israel and continued professional training at the Ellison Ballet School in the U.S.A. Mr. Khrapunsky has studied ballroom dance, ballet, character, historical, and contemporary. He is proud to have received prestigious scholarships, including the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and a full merit scholarship from Ellison Ballet School.

Notable awards for Mr. Khrapunsky include first and second place at the Youth America Grand Prix semi-finals, with a subsequent appearance at the Finals in New York City. Upon graduation, Mr. Khrapunsky was accepted into the Oklahoma City Ballet under director Robert Mills where he performed a wide range of classical and contemporary repertoire, including Rubies by George Balanchine and Dear Miss Cline by Amy Seiwert. In 2016, he was hired as a soloist with the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. Mr. Khrapunsky’s repertoire includes: the Jester in Swan Lake (choreography by Marius Petipa), Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet (choreography by Anton Pimanov) , Puss in the Boots in The Sleeping Beauty (choreography by Jean-Guillaume Bart), Vestris (choreography by Leonid Yacobson), Sancho Panza in Don Quixote (choreography by Johan Kobborg) and more.

Mr. Khrapunsky has also performed in numerous theatres, including the Mariinsky Theatre, the Bolshoi Theatre, Luciano Pavarotti Opera House, and has toured across the world including in France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Japan, Morocco, Italy and more. In 2019, he became a guest artist with Sergei Polunin and Alina Cojocaru and performed in Johan Kobborg’s production of Romeo & Juliet at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Mr. Khrapunsky graduated with a bachelor’s degree in pedagogy from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet and is a certified ballet teacher with the American Ballet Theatre curriculum training program. He has taught at the Valery Panov Ballet School, at the Oklahoma City Ballet School and taught professional company dancers at the Leonid Yacobson Ballet Theatre.
