Corps de Ballet

Maggie Weatherdon made her debut with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company as an Apprentice in 2022 and was promoted to the Corps de Ballet in 2023.

Born in North Carolina, Maggie began her journey with dance after moving to Grimsby, Ontario at the age of five. She fell in love with ballet after attending a summer intensive with Neglia Ballet in Buffalo, New York, where she subsequently trained for six years. During this period, she also competed in USA ICB in 2018 and in Prix de Lausanne in 2020. Due to her outstanding performance in 2020, Maggie received a scholarship to the RWB School’s Anna McCowan-Johnson Aspirant Program, where she trained for an additional two years.

As part of the RWB Company, Maggie has danced in Nutcracker and The Handmaid’s Tale: Based on the Novel by Margaret Atwood. She also performed the lead in the pas de six variation from La Vivandière in the RWB School’s On the Edge.

Although her dream role is Kitri in Don Quixote, Maggie was thrilled to perform in the RWB’s 2023 production of Swan Lake.
