Nicole Coppens

Nicole Coppens began teaching modern dance at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School in 2013 and has since been inspiring RWB students with her dynamic teaching and choreographic style. Recently, Ms. Coppens accepted the role as Artistic Coordinator for the First Steps Choreographic Competition, a position that allows her to work with Professional Division students where she helps create and refine their choreographic talents.
Ms. Coppens is a graduate of the Professional Program at the School of Contemporary Dancers and has her Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Theatre from the University of Winnipeg. As well as teaching at the RWB School, Ms. Coppens teaches at the School of Contemporary Dancers. Since 2007, Ms. Coppens has been a Company dancer with NAfro Dance Productions, the only African contemporary dance company in Western Canada.
