Second Soloist

Originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Ryan Vetter danced at the Dance Gallery under the direction of Jackie Kriens and Rebecca Hansen before joining the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School Professional Division in 2008. After graduating with Distinction in 2012, and completing one year in the Professional Division Aspirant Program, Vetter was hired into the Corps de Ballet in 2013. He then received a promotion to Second Soloist in 2018.

Since joining the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, he has performed the lead roles in Giselle, Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, and Nutcracker. He has also performed supporting characters such as Charlie in Mark Godden’s Going Home Star, Carabosse in The Sleeping Beauty, Green Man in Lila York’s Celts, Curdie in Twyla Tharp’s The Princess and the Goblin, and Dark Elegy man in Balanchine’s Serenade. Vetter has also, on several occasions, performed the lead roles in ballets such as The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty as an international guest artist.
