Corps de Ballet
Born in Munich, Germany and raised in Seattle, Washington, Stephan Possin began his ballet training at the Pacific Northwest Ballet School (PNBS) in 2004. Possin danced with many different schools in the summer while attending PNBS: Ballet Austin, Boston Ballet, The School of American Ballet as well as the Royal Danish Ballet. After several years at PNBS, he began working one-on-one with former PNB Principal dancer Deborah Hadley.
Possin participated in the 2010 Youth American Grand Prix, where he was asked by Artistic Director André Lewis to join the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School’s Aspirant Program. In the summer of 2012 he had the opportunity to attend Banff’s Summer Professional Dance Program where he performed Balanchine’s Concerto Borocco, Christopher Wheeldon’s Souvenirs and Bejart’s Greek Dances. Possin then went on to join Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet as an Apprentice and was promoted to the Corps de Ballet in 2013.
Possin has recently been seen in Swan Lake’s Pas de Trois as well as the Mouse King in Nutcracker. His repertoire also includes performances of Giselle, Moulin Rouge® - The Ballet, Forsythe’s The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude, James Kudelka’s The Four Seasons, Peter Quanz’s Blushing, Untitled, Luminous, Quantz by Quanz and Double Bounce. He has also taken part in many RWB world premieres such as Twyla Tharp’s The Princess and The Goblin, Lila York’s The Handmaid’s Tale and Mark Godden’s Going Home Star - Truth and Reconciliation.
Possin had the opportunity to travel and perform internationally for the Company’s 2015 tour of Europe and 2014 tour of China.
