​Born in China, Yue Shi began studying ballet at the Liaoning Ballet School at the age of 10. Throughout his training, he has participated in many international ballet competitions and garnered several awards. Shi was invited to join the RWB School Aspirant Program when he competed at the Jackson International Ballet Competition, where RWB Artistic Director & CEO André Lewis was a member of the Jury. Shi joined the RWB Company as an Apprentice in 2015, was promoted to Corps de Ballet during the Company’s 16/17 season and Second Soloist in 2018.

Since joining the RWB Company, Shi has danced the roles of Prince (Nutcracker), Pas de Deux (Giselle), Jester (Swan Lake), Prince Desire and Blue Bird (The Sleeping Beauty), Norbert Vesak’s Belong, Jester in Mark Godden’s Miroirs, Waltz Couple in Balanchine’s Serenade, Lead Couple in Mauricio Wainrot’s Carmina Burana. Shi has also performed in Mark Godden’s Dracula, Lila York’s Celts and The Handmaid’s Tale, Brian MacDonald’s Pas D’Action, James Kudelka’s Vespers, Val Caniparoli’s A Cinderella Story, and Peter Quanz’s Blushing. In the beginning of 2017, Yue Shi guest performed the role of Prince in The Sleeping Beauty with Sofia National Opera Ballet.
