Josh grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, where he began dancing at the age of three. At fifteen, he enrolled at Vimy Ridge Academy to attend the Vimy Dance program in partnership with the Edmonton School of Ballet. Upon graduation, Josh moved to Victoria, BC, to train at the Victoria Academy of Ballet where he completed a two-year diploma in classical ballet and contemporary dance. While training in Victoria, Josh had the opportunity to work as a guest artist with Ballet Kelowna in John Alleyne’s A Streetcar Named Desire, perform Alysa Pires’ The Four Seasons, and take part in Dance Victoria’s Choreographic Lab under the direction of Wen Wei Wang. In the spring of 2019, Josh was offered a contract with the RWB and moved to Winnipeg where he now lives with his wife, Tessa, and their puppy, Ranger.
