Bio

Promoted to Principal Dancer in 2026, Marco Lo Presti joined the Royal Winnipeg Ballet in 2023 after spending two seasons with Tanzcompany Innsbruck in Austria.

Since joining the RWB, Marco has performed a diverse range of classical, dramatic, and contemporary roles. His notable performances include the Nutcracker Prince, Mercutio in Rudy van Dantzig’s Romeo and Juliet, Mr. Hyde in Val Caniparoli’s Jekyll & Hyde, the Fairy King in Loughlan Prior’s Hansel & Gretel, Prince Desire in Christopher Stowell’s The Sleeping Beauty, the Lead Man in James Kudelka’s The Four Seasons, and the Lead Man in Dwight Rhoden’s Odyssey.

His performances have earned critical acclaim. Reviewing Hansel & Gretel, the Winnipeg Free Press described Marco as “an emerging RWB star.” In its review of The Sleeping Beauty, the publication wrote: “Another standout performance belongs to Second Soloist Marco Lo Presti, who infuses his Prince Desire with regal bearing, providing a supportive, trusted partner for Aurora. In addition to his enthralling athleticism, including tightly controlled battement and gazelle-like leaps across the stage in his Grand Pas de Deux variation, this expressive dancer also boasts commendable acting skills.”

Originally from Rome, Italy, Marco began his dance training at the age of five before continuing his studies at Rome’s National Academy of Dance under the tutelage of Dora Depanfilis. He made his professional debut at 19 with Daniele Cipriani Entertainment, where he immediately began performing soloist roles.

Prior to joining the RWB, Marco danced with Teatro San Carlo di Napoli and Teatro Massimo di Palermo. His notable repertoire includes Cyrano in Filip Veverka’s Cyrano de Bergerac, Tom Buchanan in Gatsby, Charles Bovary in Madame Bovary, Federico García Lorca in Enrique Gasa Valga’s Lorca, the See Man in Mauro Bigonzetti’s Mediterranea, and the Sun in Enrique Gasa Valga’s Mareas, a role created especially for him.

An award-winning artist, Marco received First Prize at both the Frascati Dance Open and Tomorrow’s Etoile competitions in Rome.

Offstage, Marco enjoys playing guitar and composing music.
