Wayne Mackelson is a Senior Manager with MNP’s Consulting group in Winnipeg. Drawing on more than 20 years of accounting, financial and business administration and business ownership experience, Wayne helps clients optimize their financials to better align with their business direction drawing on his superior knowledge of financial and process analysis.

Throughout his time at MNP, Wayne has worked on many types of engagements that include business planning and feasibility studies, operational reviews, product costing and margin analysis, strategic planning, developing performance metrics and reporting, governance structure reviews, and marketing studies.

Wayne has extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of accounting, financial analysis, contract negotiation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate expansion, and customer relationship building. He has helped organizations through mergers, handling the accounting as well as human resource consultation and contract aspects, and has worked in financial services with commercial and small business clients optimizing and managing their financial needs.

Wayne spent over 20 years in the trucking industry mostly with a family operated, mid sized trucking company moving freight across North America. Wayne was involved with all levels of the business including finance and administration, business development, process improvement, dispatch, HR, and planning and strategy. Wayne also engaged in continuous improvement processes to ensure streamlined policies and internal manuals were maintained, updated, and clear without being unnecessarily burdensome.

With deep knowledge and experience in finance and accounting, Wayne develops practical solutions and delivers results for his clients. His cross-industry expertise includes commercial transportation, construction and financial services.

Prior to starting his consulting career, Wayne worked for a tier 1 bank in small business and commercial lending with major clients in several industries including agriculture, manufacturing, construction and logistics. He also worked in conjunction with other client funding and service sources including Farm Credit Canada and Export Development Canada to provide client solutions.

Wayne’s board experience includes the Asper M.B.A. Students Association, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg and March Transport Ltd. He is currently a member of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s Finance and Audit Committee.
