Overview
The Northern Lights Project is a bold new initiative celebrating the future of Canadian dance. Bringing together the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and partners including The National Arts Centre, The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, and Fall For Dance North Festival, it creates a collaborative space where diverse artists from across Canada will co-create new works that bring ballet into conversation with a broad range of dance practices and art forms, culminating in performances by the RWB Company on our stage.
With the resources of RWB’s world-class stage, this project helps artistic talent grow professionally, giving the next generation of Canadian voices a platform to be seen and heard.
Guided by Artistic Director Christopher Stowell’s vision and his long-standing connections in the dance community, Northern Lights Project goes beyond traditional performance, fostering collaboration, experimentation, and innovation that pushes the boundaries of ballet while celebrating the creativity and spirit that define Canada’s artistic landscape.
